KUEC Launches IdeaLab 2026 to Help KU Community Transform Ideas into Validated Concepts

ABU DHABI, UAE – The KUEC Science & Technology Park Team has officially launched IdeaLab 2026 Cohort 1, a hands-on ideation and entrepreneurship program designed to help KU students, researchers, staff, faculty, and innovators transform early-stage ideas into validated startup concepts through structured workshops, mentorship, and practical entrepreneurial training.

The five-week program commenced on 28 July 2026 at the Khalifa University Main Campus KIC Hall and will guide participants through a journey from problem identification and customer validation to early prototyping, go-to-market strategy, and final pitching.

“Every great venture begins with a well-tested idea. IdeaLab gives our community the space, structure, and expert support to ask the right questions before building the answers.”

IdeaLab reflects KUEC’s commitment to fostering an entrepreneurial mindset and creating opportunities for students to develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges. Through expert-led sessions, mentor support, and collaborative learning experiences, participants will gain the skills needed to test assumptions, build early prototypes, and communicate the value of their ideas.

The program began with two opening sessions, Kickoff & Mindset led by entrepreneur and coach Samia Hassan, followed by Idea Validation & Research delivered by startup mentor and product leader Khalifa Manaa. Together, the sessions introduced participants to founder thinking and evidence-based idea development.

Over the coming weeks, participants will continue through workshops covering MVP scoping, go-to-market strategy, storytelling, and final pitch preparation, supported by office hours and hands-on building sessions. The program will conclude with teams presenting the validated concepts and pitches developed throughout the experience.

Through programs such as IdeaLab, KUEC continues to strengthen the innovation ecosystem at Khalifa University by connecting participants with experienced entrepreneurs and practical first steps for turning ideas into impact.
